There are many benefits to working from home, but I have found that for me, a professional office space makes me work more efficiently. It also looks better to my clients. With the economy struggling for so long, there is a large amount of commercial vacancies. Landlords are desperate to get income from their properties. Now is the time to find the perfect office space, negotiate a killer deal, and sign that lease!
#2. Help is cheap.
Being a loan wolf can sound great, but in reality you need help! Most businesses will need a bookkeeper, a web designer and maybe even an office assistant. With unemployment still very high you can find talented, well qualified people that are willing to work cheap. They are also willing to work on a temporary, contract basis, so when you don’t need them, you don’t pay them.
#3. It seems that everyone is willing to bargain.
People are desperate to make a sale. I have found that I can get discounts on many products and services just by asking. Sometimes you don’t even need to ask. For example, there are online companies that are selling business cards for just $10. And that includes shipping. A few years ago you couldn’t find business cards for under $30.
#4 There is less competition
Many people are afraid of starting a business during a recession, and many ongoing businesses got stuck with expensive leases and employment contracts that they just couldn’t sustain when times got tough. Starting now you have the cheaper lease and the flexible staff so you can operate lean and mean and make money in any economy!
#5. You Have the time!
So are you yourself the victim of a layoff and now you can find a job anywhere. Employers are getting hundreds of applications for every opening they have. So what else are you going to do with your time. Don’t ditch the job search just yet, but use the extra time you have now to get your business going!
